The performance of sixteen Valiantzas’ reference evapotranspiration models was investigated using the meteorological data obtained from Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Kumulur, Lalgudi Taluk Tiruchirapalli district, which is a semi-arid region located in Tamil Nadu, India. compared with globally used FAO56 Penman-Monteith method. indexes for comparison are coefficient determination (R2), Standard Error Estimate (SEE) long-term average ratio (RT). requiring complete dataset performed excellently this station. not wind speed also equally well station exhibited fairly good correlation FAO56-PM other formulae accounting local conditions, reduced set temperature relative humidity alone radiation investigation showed fair accuracy Models hence researchers can use these absence availability dataset.
